I got a chance to meet new people; I ran into some hardships and successfully overcame them. Experiencing the first º£½ÇÉçÇø cross country team will forever stay with me.

By becoming a student-athlete at NDMU, I expanded my family; who are my teammates and coaches. For 3 months, we spend at least 12 hours a week with each other to play the one thing that we love: lacrosse. We bond and get to know each other during the season and create relationships that are unforgettable.

I believe it is a privilege to work with our young women and to see them grow into confident, accomplished pre-professionals—and to play even a small part in that growth.

Antoinella uses her degree and internship experiences to help at-risk youth through several after-school programs, including her F.A.M.E. (Fashion, Art, Mentoring, and Etiquette) Design program.

I was able to play with children in my AdvoCaring group and meet the wonderful teachers completely dedicated to them. The look in those children’s eyes when we had a health fair geared towards them is something I will never forget.

Queenstar Akrong, who has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a concentration in international affairs, is currently serving as a Congressional intern on Capitol Hill. Born in Ghana but currently residing in Maryland, Queenstar’s passion for education advocacy, specifically for marginalized communities and developing countries, is the driving force behind her work.

º£½ÇÉçÇø’s campus has seen lots of construction activity—and one of our students has helped bring some of those projects to fruition. Danielle spent the summer of 2014 as a project engineer intern with the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, one of the country's largest general contracting and construction management companies.

The MSN program offers a holistic and valuable learning experience in the classroom, as well as in the clinical setting. The structure of a one-night-per-week class worked well with my demanding schedule at home, work, and church.

Service has been an important part of Gabrielle’s experience at º£½ÇÉçÇø. During the summer between her sophomore and junior years, Gabrielle and two classmates were awarded a Davis Projects for Peace grant and traveled to Swaziland, where they taught women and girls in a community called Section 19 how to crochet scarves, bags and other items that would boost their income.

º£½ÇÉçÇø's motto is about truth and the pursuit of truth. To that end, º£½ÇÉçÇø has taught me the irreplaceable, immutable, and incomparable value of truth and education.
